NEW TO CrossFit Takanini, We are so excited that you are interested in what we do here at CrossFit Takanini.
Here’s what you can expect when you arrive at CrossFit Takanini: All you have to do is show up and we will guide you through the rest!
1 – You will be greeted by enthusiastic and knowledgeable coaches who will walk you through everything you need to know to get started! Our coaches love what they do and are experts in the field of fitness.
2 – If you are attending your first class you will need to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled class time. This will allow one of our coaches to show you around, have you fill out a waiver and to introduce you to current members who will be training with you.
3 – Each training session is approximately 1 hour in length.
4 – Every class will begin with a warm up and mobility session specifically designed to prep you for the workout of the day (WOD).
5 – Your warm up is typically followed by strength work or skill work. One day may do back squats and the next day we may work on a technical skill such as rope climbs, tire flips or hand stand walks.
6 – The class will usually end with some form of metabolic conditioning (i.e. MetCon). This is where you move fast, breath hard and sweat A LOT! The time allotted for the MetCon ranges from approximately 5 minutes to 45 minutes, but rarely extends beyond 25 minutes.
7 – After the workout is complete you will report your time or your reps to the coach who will post the results on the white board. This is IMPORTANT! We record EVERYTHING! It’s vital to know where you WERE at, where you ARE at and where you want to GET! Writing everything down helps the coaches help you reach your goals!
8 – At this point you are free to go, but you are welcome to stay and stretch, cool down, sip a recovery shake or just socialize.
9 – All you have to do is show up and we will guide you through the rest!
